New hedges require formative pruning for their first couple of years after planting. Formative pruning is usually carried out in winter or spring.
After this, maintenance trimming is carried out, usually once a year for informal hedges and twice a year for formal hedges. Some formal hedges may need three cuts a year. Maintenance trimming is generally carried out between spring and summer.
We have used Treehogs for a couple of years now for the twice yearly cut of our big hedge. The guys are extremely professional, they turn up when they say, on time, they're very curteous and contientious, do a great job and clear up brilliantly. I can't fault them, if you want a professional job, this is the place to go.
Catherine HoggWe were concerned about the condition of some of our trees and good friend of ours, Pat Derosa, recommended Treehogs to us, who we immediately contacted. We are really glad that we did.!.We had some very high conifers and a sycamore tree which needed drastically reducing, as well as another high tree which was very close to an overhead telephone cable. Some of the trees were near to a building, and a large tree had already fallen during a previous storm. Brett assessed the work and responded with a reasonable quote the next day. Alex, Ellis and Dyffs attended yesterday, a few days after. They were very polite, well equipped and used correct PPE. Apart from a brief break midway, their team worked solidly throughout. They were very professional and worked very well and methodical as a team. They kept in contact throughout the job, checking that we were happy with their work. It was s hot day without wearing PPE but they worked hard and remained calm and friendly. They also did a great job of clearing up afterwards, using a blower for small fragments, again checking that we were happy before they left. To say that we are extremely impressed with Treehogs and their staff is a huge understatement and we highly recommend them to family and friends without hesitation and we will definitely use Treehogs again in future.
